National security and the development of information and communication technologies. Today the exhibition “TIBO-2018”, the annual show of the most advanced products and technologies from all over the world started its work in the capital of Belarus. This time, more than one hundred companies from 15 countries demonstrate their innovations. Belarus is also widely represented. Although even the huge Minsk Arena building could not house everything that our developers can boast of. This is one of the world’s first commercial samples of a base station with support for fifth generation radio access. In terms of the experts, it loads data at an incredible speed – over 3 Gbps. And this means that 5G is already in Belarus! Today the technology was presented at the exhibition “TIBO”. This is the project of “BeСloud”. The operator – an example of public-private partnership – has already implemented three large projects. One of them is the republican data transmission network. “BeСloud” experts promise, that by 2020 the 5G technology will start large-scale work. Meanwhile they are ready to offer other projects as well. The central place at “TIBO-2018” is occupied by the exposition “Belarus: an IT-country”. Its stands present state digital services and achievements of Hi-Tech Park residents. At the interactive exhibition, where everything is clear even to the child, experts in the form of game tell and, most importantly, show how the Internet works and how to protect personal information. For the peace of mind of parents, there’s a special application. The information in it is completely verified. This is a joint project of MTS, the Ministry of Education and UNICEF.
Nikolai Bulash, the Head of the Economic Department of MTS: “Everyone is concerned about the threats that await our children on the Internet: unwanted content and unwanted acquaintances. Our solution, which we plan to launch this year, allows us to teach children the rules how to use Internet and how to recognize its threats.” The next stand is perhaps one of the most visited, it show smart animal collars, multi-sensors for air quality evaluation, gas and water meters. Everything to make the life more comfortable and to improve its quality. As an example, you can see another innovative service from MTS in the field of health. A new mobile application will allow to get a doctor’s advice online or make an appointment.
Julia Panova, Head of the Cloud and Financial Services Group at MTS: “At the moment, it’s just a technology, since some legislative acts in the Republic of Belarus are not adopted. Still we are showing a solution ready for implementation. First, we choose where we want to get help: here, anywhere in the world, or in a medical center. We choose how urgently we want to do this. Sending an application for consultation with a therapist, we expect an answer. The answer usually comes very quickly.” Virtual and augmented reality is the next step in the education of children. All the training materials are online, which means that the tasks can be performed by the entire class at the same time. And, of course, security. The presented camera will detect any stranger in the school. A common educational space, e-health, ID-cards for citizens – dozens of IT developments were presented at TIBO. And all of them are made in Belarus. Digital transformation of the country became possible, due to the improvement of legislation as well.
Anatoly Kalinin, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus: “A lot is being done to develop the IT-country. There is a state program for the development of electronic technologies and the information society for the coming five-year period. The Head of State adopted Decree No. 8, which created unprecedented conditions for attracting and developing the IT industry in our country.” These achievements are just a part of what is being developed. Specialists joke, that “Minsk-Arena” obviously would not be able to house all the technologies and products. Till the end of the week TIBO will host forums and presentations. The program also includes startup contests and an Internet award. Over three hundred applications have been submitted for it. Experts say, that these projects will shape the future not only in Belarus, but in the whole world.
